Water spraying from a pipe, sewage in the tub, or a water heater leaking across the garage floor? Call us now. A Target Plumbers dispatcher answers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including holidays, and sends the nearest plumber in Los Angeles or Orange County.
1. Stop the water. Turn the main shut-off valve clockwise until it stops. It is usually on an outside wall where the water line enters the house, or by the water meter near the street.
2. Water heater leaking? Close the cold-water valve on top of the tank, then switch off its power or set the gas control to off.
3. Keep clear of electricity. Stay out of standing water near outlets, cords or appliances.
4. Sewage coming up? Stop flushing and stop running sinks, the washer and the dishwasher.
5. Smell gas? Leave the building, then call 911 or your gas utility from outside. Don’t switch anything on or off.
6. Take photos of the damage for your insurance, then call us.
A split pipe can release gallons of water a minute. We stop the flow, find the break inside the wall, ceiling or yard, and repair or replace the failed section before restoring water. Hidden leaks found later go to our water leak repair team.
When sewage comes up through the lowest drain in the house, the main sewer line is blocked. We clear it through the cleanout, run a camera to see what caused it, and tell you whether it needs sewer line repair or just cleaning.
We clear the blockage, replace a failed fill valve or flapper if the tank won’t stop filling, and check that the line behind the toilet drains properly.
A tank leaking from the bottom usually can’t be repaired. We shut it down safely, drain it, and give you replacement options; tank and tankless units can often be replaced the same day. See water heater installation.
Once the gas utility or fire department has made the area safe, our plumbers locate the leak, repair the line and pressure-test it before the gas is turned back on. More on gas line repair.
Warm spots on the floor, the sound of running water with every tap closed, or a sudden jump in the water bill can mean a pipe leaking under the foundation. We pinpoint it and explain the least disruptive fix. See slab leak repair.
If every drain backs up at once, we clear the main line through the cleanout the same night. For lines that keep clogging, see sewer line clean-out and hydro jetting.
Emergency calls at night, on weekends and on holidays can cost more than a weekday visit. What doesn’t change: you get the price before any work, and if the job can safely wait, we’ll tell you so you can book a regular appointment instead.
Large unexpected repair? 0% interest for up to 48 months on approved credit.
Emergency calls go to the 24/7 line, (844) 941-2727, and the plumber comes from the nearest of our six local offices:
Anything that is flooding, unsafe or leaves you without a working toilet or water: a burst pipe, sewage coming up through a drain, a toilet that won’t stop overflowing, a leaking water heater, no water at all, or the smell of gas. If water is reaching walls, ceilings or electrical outlets, treat it as an emergency.
Find the main shut-off valve, usually on an outside wall where the water line enters the house or near the water meter by the street, and turn it clockwise until it stops. For a single fixture, close the small valve under the sink or behind the toilet.
It depends on the problem, the parts and the time of the call. You get the price before any work starts, so the invoice holds no surprises.
After-hours calls can be priced differently from weekday visits. You’ll hear the price on the phone or from the plumber before work begins.
We send the nearest available plumber as soon as you call and give you an arrival time on the phone.
Leave the building right away without switching lights or appliances on or off, then call 911 or your gas utility from outside. Once the area is safe, we can find and repair the gas line leak.
No. Stop using water in the house and call. Sewage carries bacteria, and the backup gets worse every time a toilet is flushed or a sink is used.
Coverage depends on your policy and on what caused the leak. Take photos before cleanup starts; we can give you a written report of what failed and what we repaired for your claim.
Call (844) 941-2727. We answer 24/7. Not an emergency? Send your details and we’ll call you back to book a time.
