Sink and Faucet Installation & Repair in Los Angeles and Orange County

A faucet that won’t stop dripping, a kitchen remodel waiting on its new sink, or a bathroom vanity that needs its plumbing reconnected: Target Plumbers installs, replaces and repairs sinks and faucets in homes across Los Angeles and Orange County. We check the shut-off valves and drain under the sink before anything comes out, connect the new fixture with fresh supply lines, and run it until the cabinet stays dry.

Not sure which row you’re in? A photo of the faucet and the space under the sink helps us tell you before the visit. Water already on the floor? Close the two small valves under the sink, or the main shut-off, and call. For leaks inside a wall or ceiling, see water leak repair.

Five things to check before you buy a new faucet

  1. Hole count. Count the holes in the sink or countertop, including any covered by a deck plate or soap dispenser. Single-hole, three-hole and four-hole faucets aren’t interchangeable without a cover plate.
  2. Spread. On bathroom sinks, measure from the center of the left hole to the center of the right one: about 4 inches means a centerset faucet, about 8 inches or more means widespread.
  3. Spout reach and height. The stream should land near the drain, and a tall kitchen spout needs clearance under a cabinet or window sill.
  4. Extras. A side sprayer, soap dispenser, water filter faucet or air gap each need their own hole or connection.
  5. The valves under the sink. If they’re crusty, green or haven’t been turned in years, plan on replacing them with the faucet.

Send us the model number of the faucet you’re considering and we’ll tell you whether it fits your sink.

California's flow limits for new faucets

Faucets sold in California must meet the state’s water-efficiency standards (Title 20), which are tighter than many older fixtures:

Faucet Maximum flow
Bathroom (lavatory) faucet 1.2 gallons per minute
Kitchen faucet 1.8 gallons per minute, with a temporary boost to 2.2 allowed

That’s why a new bathroom faucet can feel gentler than the one it replaced. If the flow is far below that, the cause is usually a clogged aerator or low household pressure, which a water pressure regulator check can rule out. Source: California Title 20 water-efficiency standards summary.

Sinks and faucets we install

Kitchen sinks

Drop-in, undermount and farmhouse sinks, single or double bowl. We connect the faucet, drain, trap, dishwasher drain and disposal, and set new supply lines

Bathroom sinks and vanities

Vanity tops, pedestal, wall-hung and vessel sinks. When a vanity is replaced, we reconnect the drain at the right height and add new valves if the old ones are worn.

Kitchen faucets

Pull-down, pull-out, bridge and single-handle faucets, plus side sprayers and soap dispensers.

Bathroom faucets

Single-hole, centerset and widespread faucets, including the pop-up drain assembly that comes with them.

Under-sink parts

Quarter-turn shut-off valves, braided supply lines, P-traps and drain tailpieces, and a separate drinking-water faucet for an under-sink filter. Planning filtration for the whole house instead? See whole-house water filtration.

Faucet repairs we handle

  • Cartridge and valve stem replacement for drips and stiff handles
  • Washers, valve seats and O-rings on compression and older two-handle faucets
  • Leaks at the base, spout or handle
  • Aerator cleaning and replacement for weak or spraying flow
  • Pull-down and side-spray hoses, weights and diverters
  • Broken handles and loose faucet bodies that rock on the sink

We tell you on the spot whether a part will fix it or the faucet has reached the end of its life, and give you both prices when both make sense.

Install day: what we do at your sink

  1. Close and test the shut-off valves; if one doesn’t close fully, we quote a new valve before going further.
  2. Disconnect and remove the old faucet or sink, protecting the cabinet base and countertop.
  3. Clean the mounting surface and set the new fixture with the correct gaskets or sealant.
  4. Connect new supply lines and reconnect the drain, trap and any disposal or dishwasher line.
  5. Flush the lines with the aerator off, then refit it so grit doesn’t choke the new faucet.
  6. Run hot and cold, fill and drain the sink, and check every connection under the cabinet for drips before we pack up.

Do you need a plumber, or will a handyman do?

California sets the line. Since 1 January 2025, someone without a contractor’s license may only take a job under $1,000, and only if the work needs no permit and they do it alone (CSLB, AB 2622). Swapping a faucet on working valves can fall inside that. Moving a sink, extending a drain or water line, or any job that needs a permit does not. Whoever you hire, ask for their license number and look it up on the CSLB website.

What changes the price of a sink or faucet job

  • Repair, faucet replacement, or a new sink as well
  • Who supplies the fixture: you or us
  • The condition of the shut-off valves and supply lines
  • Extras: sprayer, filter faucet, soap dispenser, disposal or dishwasher hookup
  • Drain changes, such as a new vanity height or a double bowl replacing a single
  • Access: tight cabinets, wall-hung sinks, stone countertops

Doing the sink as part of a kitchen or bath update? The plumbing can go on a 0% plan for up to 48 months if you qualify.

Sink and faucet questions

How much does a plumber charge to install a faucet?

The price depends on the type of faucet, whether the shut-off valves and supply lines under the sink need replacing, and whether the sink or countertop has the right number of holes. A straight swap on a sink with good valves is the simplest job; adding a sprayer, filter faucet or new valves adds parts and time. You get the full price before we start.

Only within limits. Since 1 January 2025, California lets an unlicensed person take a job under $1,000 only if it needs no permit and they work alone (CSLB, AB 2622). A simple faucet swap can fall under that; moving a drain, adding a water line or any job that needs a permit calls for a licensed contractor.

Yes. Bring the model number when you book so we can check the hole layout and connections ahead of the visit. Parts we supply carry our warranty; a fixture you supply carries the manufacturer’s warranty.

Faucets sold in California are built to lower flow limits than older fixtures: 1.2 gallons per minute for bathroom faucets and 1.8 for kitchen faucets. A sudden drop right after installation can also be grit caught in the aerator, which is why we flush the lines before fitting it.

If the faucet is in good shape and parts are available, a new cartridge, washer or O-ring usually stops the drip. Replace it when the body is corroded or cracked, the finish is failing, parts are discontinued, or you have repaired it more than once.

Often, on older homes. Valves that have not been turned in years can seize or start leaking the moment they are closed. We test them before removing the old faucet and quote new quarter-turn valves if they don’t shut off fully.

We handle the plumbing for undermount, drop-in and farmhouse sinks. An undermount sink is attached under a stone countertop, so the cut-out and mounting are usually done by the countertop fabricator; we connect the faucet, drain and disposal once the sink is set.

A single faucet replacement is usually finished in one visit. A new sink, a vanity swap or a job that needs new valves or drain parts takes longer. We give you a time estimate with the quote.
